Pike Camp over the weekend
Pike camp --

Went up the Yentna to check out the cabin and set up the foundation for our second cabin. Everything went well. We got all the workdone we were anticipating and more. The fishing was slow. It always is the first trip because the Pike are spawning and the water is very cold but we still managed to catch fish and it was a lot of fun. We also got to watch a river otter on two diferent days, tons of beavers and birds and enjoyed a new resident under the cabin that turned out to be a weasel who was extremely freindly and kept us entertained. A few king salmon were caught over the weekend but it is still very poor fishing and should remain slow and poor for about a week, then the fireworks will start for another year.
